It was announced today after speculation that the Flyers made a trade with Anaheim for Trevor Zegras by Elliotte Friedman.
Zegras is getting set to enter his sixth season in the NHL. With Zegras being the ninth overall pick in the 2019 draft there are a lot of upsides to having the 24-year old center who can also play left wing if needed. Zegras had knee surgery which limited him to play 57 games last season posting 12 goals and 20 assists.
Besides Zegras’ ability to generate speed and scoring offensively he also is best friends with Cam York and his former teammate Jamie Dysdale.
The Flyers are giving up Ryan Poehling, the 45th pick in this year’s draft and a 2026 fourth rounder in exchange.
