Ryan Richter and his Union II side are in action this Father’s Day as they look to build on their comfortable win last week. They will welcome Crown Legacy FC to Subaru Park in the MLS Next Pro 2025 season.

Union II are coming off a fantastic road trip win against strugglers FC Cincinnati 2, beating them 4-1 with goals from Eddie Davis, Markus Anderson, Giovanny Sequera, and a debut goal for 15-year-old striker Malik Jakopovic. Jordan Griffin also picked up his first MLS Next Pro assists for Union II.

Union II currently sits 9th in the Eastern Conference standings with 18 points and only one loss on the season. They’re not at the top of the standings because Ryan Richter’s side has only played nine times this season, with their game today being their 10th. Most teams have played 13 games, some playing as many as 15. A win today would see them likely in the top six, maybe even tied with 4th place, depending on results elsewhere.

Union II vs Crown Legacy FC Preview

Ryan Richter will have another roster management headache as the game coincides with the 2025 MLS Next Cup playoffs for the Union’s Academy teams. However, first-team players should be made available as they played last night and have an 11-day MLS action break, meaning the likes of Cavan Sullivan should feature for Ryan Richter’s side tonight.

Union II’s opponents in tonight’s game, Crown Legacy FC, sit one position below and 3 points behind Ryan Richter’s side, having played two more games than them. They’re coming off the back of a heavy 5-2 defeat to 2nd place NYRB II, even after they had come from 2 goals down to tie the game at 2-2. Crown Legacy has usually kept games pretty close, only having more than a one-goal deficit in three of their 11 games this season. A win tonight and they’d join Union II on 18 points, and maybe the start of a good run of form after a very mixed start to their 2025 season.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. ET at Subaru Park, and tickets are available online. So why not treat yourself or your father for Father’s Day and head down to Subaru Park to support the boys? If you can’t make it to the game, it will be streamed on Apple TV via an active MLS Season Pass subscription.
