PHILADELPHIA — Kyle Schwarber has been nothing short of a perfect Philadelphia Phillies.
On the field, there is no doubt that Schwarber has contributed in a massive way. Entering his fourth season with the club in 2025, the slugger has been one of the best hitters in all of baseball. His postseason success has helped shape three tremendous playoff runs in October. Regardless of what happens with his contract after this season, it is safe to say that Schwarber has made a lasting impact in Philadelphia.
While you might think of his time in a Phillies uniform as being impactful, Schwarber has delivered off the field as well. Bringing his charity, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, to Philadelphia, Schwarber and his wife, Paige, have been working to give back to the Philadelphia community.
Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes
Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes was founded in 2017 as a way to give back to first responders. Growing up, Schwarber’s father was a police chief and his mother a registered nurse. Seeing how his family impacted his local community left a mark on Schwarber, and he knew he wanted to use his platform to give back to first responders.
Since the organization’s inception, over $770,000 has been raised to support first responders and their families. Nearly 3,700 people have been impacted by their efforts. The charity has made stops in Chicago, Washington D.C, and of course, Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Fire Department, Philadelphia Police Department, Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, Team Foster, and Taps are all local organizations that Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes have partnered with. All organizations, of course, directly serve the city of Philadelphia every day.
Block Party
For the third straight year, Yards’ Brewing Company in Fishtown hosted a block party to raise money. Schwarber previously partnered with Yards, creating his line of beer, the Philly Standard. You can find a Philly Standard at Citizens Bank Park.
Plenty of Schwarber’s teammates and members of the Phillies organization were in attendance as well. Being that the team played an afternoon game, most came right over from the stadium to support their teammate. The Phillie Phanatic, of course, had to make an appearance, hanging out with the families of first responders at the party.
At the event, a silent auction took place with a lot of signed sports memorabilia and other fun items. All proceeds were going to the foundation as a way to raise funds. A Phillies helmet signed by the players, a Philadelphia Eagles helmet signed by the Super Bowl champs, a Taylor Swift guitar, and more fun items were available for auction.
