According to an official press release from the team, the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Head Coach Nick Sirianni.

The move should come as no surprise. Back at the NFL owners meetings, Eagles Chairman Jeffrey Lurie hinted at the possibility of a new deal for his Super Bowl-winning head Coach.

In just four years as Head Coach, Nick Sirianni has pushed the Eagles to a stunning 48-20 record, making four consecutive playoff appearances including two Super Bowls. The latter of which, his team dominated this past February, giving Philadelphia its second Super Bowl in the last decade.

‘Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a Head Coach sincee we hired him four years ago. His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped bring out the best in our team.’ Lurie mentioned in the press release.

It’s crazy to think that upon his arrival, the then-rookie Head Coach came under fire and mockery for his jittery opening press conference. His energy was misplaced for immaturity and his passion rubbed some fans the wrong way. Fast forward 4 playoff runs and a Lombardi trophy later, and it’s safe to say that he’s proved all of his doubters wrong.

Perhaps Sirianni’s biggest accomplishment hasn’t been the Super Bowl, but to come back from a 2023 finale where he was very much on the hot seat in Philadelphia following a dismal end to the campaign. His assistant coaches were fired, and Sirianni was retained as he entered a pivotal year for both him and his players.

With the arrival of Saquon Barkley and a new coaching staff came strong expectations, and Sirianni remained humble enough to stay out of the main picture when it came to play calling and do what he does best – lead the team. That culminated in the best rushing season of all time for Saquon (including playoffs) and a Lombardi trophy.

The future looks bright in Philadelphia and the Eagles now have their Head Coach under contract for a few more years.
