There was little time to rest from MLS Matchday 12 before heading into Matchday 13.
Wednesday night’s MLS schedule provided excellent entertainment and a comeback win for the Philadelphia Union over the defending MLS Cup champions.
Here are some of the best MLS matches from Wednesday night!

MLS Matchday 13 Recap
Union completes comeback over Galaxy
The LA Galaxy had a 2-0 lead heading into the second half at Subaru Park, and it looked like they would pick up their first win of the season. But then the Union started their comeback.
Nathan Harriel scored in the 48th minute to reduce LA’s lead to one. At first, it looked like Jakob Glesnes had scored from a header, but the ball bounced off Harriel’s leg and into the net.
Tai Baribo then equalized in the 50th minute and scored the game-winning goal in the 90+6’ to secure a brace for himself and three points for the Union.
Baribo’s brace marked 10 goals for him on the season so far, and he is leading the MLS Golden Boot race. The Union also sits second in the Eastern Conference after the win.
Miami draws with San Jose
Inter Miami has hit a roadblock these past few weeks, and a draw against the San Jose Earthquakes has continued the trend.
Maximiliano Falcon scored in the first minute for Miami, but Cristian Arango tied the game for San Jose just two minutes later. San Jose then took a 2-1 lead in the 38th minute thanks to Beau Leroux, until Jordi Alaba equalized in the 44th minute. But then Ian Harkes gave San Jose the lead back in the 45+4’.
Tadeo Allende equalized for Miami in the 52nd minute, and neither team was able to regain the lead for the remainder of the match.
LAFC blanks Seattle, 4-0
LAFC kept a clean sheet over the Seattle Sounders, 4-0, to leapfrog them in the standings. LAFC now sits in fifth place, while Seattle is in sixth.
Cengiz Ünder scored LAFC’s first goal in the 26th minute, and then the following three goals all came in the second half.
LAFC is just one point out of a top-three spot in MLS’s Western Conference.
Columbus couldn’t complete the comeback against Montreal
After a draw with the Philadelphia Union last week in the final moments, the Columbus Crew couldn’t complete another potential comeback against CF Montreal.
Luca Petrasso gave Montreal the lead in the 29th minute, and it wasn’t until the 63rd minute that Jacen Russell-Rowe brought the match level. Columbus couldn’t find any extra juice during the remainder of the second half and would only come out with one point against one of the East’s lowest teams.
San Diego moves back into second in the West
San Diego FC moved back into second in the West after a 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids. Christian McVey and Anders Dreyer contributed to the scoresheet, and San Diego is just four points behind the Vancouver Whitecaps for the top spot in the West.
