Eagles by the Numbers: Recapping the strong 2025 NFL Draft and offseason

The Philadelphia Eagles headed into the off-season with few holes on the roster, but a desire to improve and make a run at another Super Bowl title. While the Eagles were relatively quiet during free agency, they made some major additions during the 2025 NFL Draft!

Eagles by the Numbers:

0- The number of Edge rushers Philadelphia selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, despite many believing it could be the position they selected with their first-round pick. The Eagles listed 6th-round pick Antwaun Powell-Ryland as an OLB.

1- The round the Birds selected LB Jihaad Campbell. This was the first time the Eagles have drafted an off-ball linebacker in the first round since 1979, when they drafted Jerry Robinson.

2- Offensive linemen drafted who come from a family of NFL players. Howie explained why bloodlines can matter for Myles Hinton and Drew Kendall.

“Well, it’s certainly part of the player profile. Coach [Sirianni] and I joke a lot of times about that. Certainly, genetics are part of who we all are and having pro athletes as your parents usually helps. It’s hard to play in the National Football League. [It takes a] special kind of talent to play in the National Football League and we see that every day and how talented our players are. So, when they come from that, it usually means that the game’s not going to be too big for them. They’ve been around it since they were really little. We see that with our family. They get the opportunity to be around locker rooms and players and so when they come to this big stage, they’ve been around it. And so, certainly, that’s not why we’re drafting players. We’re drafting them on their ability, but it’s helpful.”

3- The number of offensive linemen selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Drew Kendall, Myles Hinton, and Cameron Williams.

4- The number of 6th-round draft picks made by the Eagles, including an addition to the QB factory.

Pick 181- QB, Kyle McCord, Syracuse

Pick 191- T, Myles Hinton, Michigan

Pick 207- T, Cameron Williams, Texas

Pick 209- OLB, Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Virginia Tech

5- trades made by the Eagles during draft weekend:

Eagles receive a 2025 first-round pick (pick 31 LB Jihaad Campbell) from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2025 first-round pick (32 and 164).

Eagles receive a 2025 third-round pick (101) and a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick (96).

Eagles receive a 2025 fourth-round pick (111 overall, DT Ty Robinson), a 2025 fourth-round pick (130), and a 2025 sixth-round pick (191, T Myles Hinton) from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick (101) and a 2025 fourth-round pick (134).

Eagles receive a 2025 fifth-round pick (145, CB Mac McWilliams) and a 2025 sixth-round pick (207, T Cameron Williams) from the New York Jets in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick (130).

Eagles receive a pair of 2025 sixth-round picks (181, QB Kyle McCord, and 209, OLB Antwaun Powell-Ryland) from the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick (165).

6- The number of defensive players selected. The Eagles continue to build the defense via the draft.

7- The number of Tight Ends on the Eagles’ depth chart. A position many, including myself, thought Philadelphia would address early in the draft but was not addressed at all during draft weekend. They re-constructed Dallas Goedert’s contract, post-draft, to keep him on the team in 2025, which was the best solution.

8- The number of draft picks the Eagles had on Day 3.

9- The number of rookie Free Agents (UFDA) the Eagles signed.

10- Draft selections made in the 2025 NFL Draft! Many thought Howie would use the extra picks to move up the board, but he made more trades down and explained why after the draft, also explaining their strategy.

“We could find backups in August, we can find backups on our team. We want to find starters. And so, if that means that we take six guys — I don’t know, how many guys did we take today? I mean, you take eight guys, and you hit on three starters, I mean, you are smoking. You are doing a really good job. So, we’re going to take shots on guys who have traits and we’re looking for guys that can make a difference. And so, we’re not worried about the guys that may not — we’re not looking for the numbers. We’re not saying, ‘Hey, 90 percent of the guys made our roster.’ We’re looking for guys who can make an impact for the Philadelphia Eagles.”
