The PGA Tour has announced the majority of the field for the Truist Championship next weekend at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course from May 7-11. The Truist Championship is one of eight Signature Events on the PGA Tour calendar, which brings 90% of the world’s best golfers to the Delaware Valley, including No. 2-ranked defending champion, Rory McIlroy. The elite Northern Ireland-born golfer has won the Truist Championship a record-setting four times in his career (2010, 2015, 2021, 2024).
Philadelphia to host PGA Truist Championship this weekend
The only player missing from the Official World Golf Rankings is the No.-1 ranked golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler. After competing in the 2025 CJ Cup Bryon Nelson last weekend, he will skip the Philly-based event. The rest of the field for the Truist Championship is stacked with top-10 ranked golfers: McIlroy (No. 2), Xander Schauffele (No. 3), Collin Morikawa (No. 4), Justin Thomas (No. 5), Ludvid Aberg (No. 6), Hideki Matsuyama (No. 7), Russell Henley (No. 8), Viktor Hovland (No. 9) and Maverick McNealy (No. 10).
In addition to the star-studded field, six former champions will join the field for the 22nd edition of the Truist Championship. Wyndham Clark (2023), Jason Day (2018), Brian Harman (2017), Ricky Fowler (2012), and Lucas Glover (2011). Two-time Truist Championship-winner Max Homa (2019, 2022) will also participate at the Philadelphia Cricket Club next weekend. It is the first time since Day’s victory in 2018 that the PGA Tour has played the event in Philadelphia.

The field will be finalized on Monday, May 5, following the conclusion of the 2025 CJ CUP Byron Nelson tournament. As of Friday, May 2 at 5 PM EST, there are 72 confirmed participants registered for the 2025 Triust Championship.
