It started with a blast for the Philadelphia Phillies and the offense kept going all game long.
Things looked similar to Tuesday night’s game. After Bryson Stott singled and Trea Turner walked, Kyle Schwarber again launched a homer to continue his on-base streak to 36 games. The blast went off the small scoreboard in right field and was his ninth of the season.
Unlike previous games, the Phillies kept adding to the run column. In the fourth inning, JT Realmuto finally found some luck with a single up the middle. With two outs, Johan Rojas lined a ball at 105 MPH to put runners on first and second. Bryson Stott continued his hot streak, driving Realmuto home with a single.
In the fifth, Bryce Harper led off with a double down the right field line. After advancing to third on a Schwarber groundout, Nick Castellanos floated a single up the middle to score Harper.
With five runs on the board, Max Kepler decided to join in on the scoring. In the sixth, Kepler did his best Schwarber impression and homered to right. It was his 3rd of the season for the Phillies.
The Phillies added a seventh run in the eighth inning thanks to a home run from JT Realmuto. It was the furthest hit ball of the night, going 397 ft.

Sanchez Returns for Phillies
Cristopher Sánchez started the game for the Phillies. The tall lefty didn’t have his best stuff but still got through five innings. He allowed two ER on five hits, three walks, and one hit by pitch. He struck out six. He would ultimately record the win.
“[Sánchez] looked a little rusty,” said manager Rob Thomson. “It’s been a week since he pitched. His stuff was really good.”
The bullpen picked things up for Sánchez. Both José Ruiz and Tanner Banks threw wrap-around innings. Ruiz pitched a clean seventh and picked up another out on one pitch in the seventh. Banks finished the seventh and pitched a spotless eighth. Both pitchers had their strikeout stuff going. Ruiz recorded two strikeouts and Banks had four.
With a five-run lead, Carlos Hernandez got ninth-inning duties. The lead stayed that way after Hernandez induced two fly ball outs and a grounder to Trea Turner to end the game.
The win pushed the Phillies to 17-13.
In the postgame press conference, Rob Thomas revealed that Ranger Suárez would make his season debut on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
