Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh will begin a rehab assignment Thursday night with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Marsh, who was placed on the IL on Sunday with a hamstring injury, after tweaking it on an awkward play last Wednesday against San Francisco, will begin to work his way back to the Phillies roster. The IronPigs take on the Columbus Clippers, the affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians tonight at 6:45 p.m.
Brandon Marsh to begin rehab assignment with Lehigh Valley
After running the bases on Tuesday and getting some workouts in at Citizens Bank Park, Marsh will bat second and play centerfield hitting behind Justin Crawford who shifts to left field tonight for the IronPigs. The 27-year-old will look to get back on track after a tough start to the season. Marsh is just 4-for-42 at the plate (.095) in 17 games after being given a chance to be the everyday centerfielder to start the season, Marsh will look to use the rehab assignment not only to ensure he’s 100% ready to go with the hamstring, but also as a chance to find his swing again and get back to being a contributor in the lineup.

Despite any setbacks, the fan-favorite can be activated from the 10-day IL when first eligible on Sunday.
