The Eagles and Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens agreed to a new, four-year, $86 million extension on Monday morning the team announced. The new deal ensures that the Eagles’ franchise center will be under contract through the 2029 season.

The new contract includes $39.4 million guaranteed with Jurgens making $17 million a year, becoming the second-highest paid center in the NFL, only behind Kansas City’s Creed Humphrey who makes $18 million per season. The extension was expected as Howie Roseman and the Eagles have been working on keeping arguably the best offensive line intact for the foreseeable future, agreeing to extensions with left tackle Jordan Mailata, left guard Landon Dickerson and right tackle Lane Johnson all over the past year.

Jurgens, who was selected in large part due to the input of legendary center Jason Kelce, turned in a sensational 2024 season in his first year as a starter after being selected with the 51st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. The 6-foot-3, 303-pound center was named to the Pro-Bowl, becoming the youngest Eagles’ center to be named to the Pro-Bowl since Ken Farragut in 1953 who was also 25-years-old.

He was part of the offensive line that helped pave the way for Saquon Barkley’s historic season, rushing for 2,005 yards in the regular season which is the eighth-most in a single season while setting the NFL record for most rushing yards in the regular season and playoffs combined with 2,504 yards.

Jurgens is an interesting guy, growing up on cattle ranch in Nebraska where he had a video of him go viral working on his pass-blocking technique against a steer and has created his own beef jerky company “Jurgy.

The extension ensures that Jurgens continues to provide the reliable consistency at the keystone position on the offensive line that was handed down from Kelce who was the anchor of the front five for 13 years.
