On Thursday, Eagles GM Howie Roseman added veteran WR Terrace Marshall Jr. to the payroll with another one-year contract this offseason. The signing is a high-upside, low-risk deal for the former 24-year-old represented by Elite Loyalty Sports. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first person to announce the contract during dinnertime hours on April 10th:

The Carolina Panthers selected Marshall Jr. with the 59th choice in the 2021 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-2 wideout from LSU collected 767 receiving yards and one touchdown in 36 games for Carolina over three seasons between 2021 and 2023. He had a significant amount of hype around him due to what LSU has been able to produce out of the wide receiver position in years past. From Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr and even Ja’Marr Chase, Marshall looked as if he could be another product of LSU.

Unfortunately, things didn’t work out that way for the former LSU Tiger. Marshall signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Aug. 2024, but was released in mid-October. After a week-long search for a new squad, the former LSU Tiger landed in Nevada with the Las Vegas Raiders right before Halloween. He was promoted to the active roster shortly after American families cleaned their Thanksgiving table. Marshall Jr. appeared in seven games for the Raiders last season, including one start. He finished with three catches on six targets for 41 yards, a 13.7 yards-per-reception average.

Marshall Jr. adds depth to a loaded wide-receiver room in Philly featuring stars A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson, Ainias Smith, Elijah Cooks, and Danny Gray will battle alongside Marshall Jr. for roster positioning this offseason. There could be another addition to the wideout room in two weeks at the NFL Draft in Green Bay. Philadelphia owns eight picks inside the top five rounds of the selection process, including multiple fifth-round selections. Round 1 of the NFL draft will occur at 8 pm EST on April 24.
