The preparation for the 2025-26 NFL season is just three weeks away for the Philadelphia Eagles as they begin their quest to defend their Super Bowl title. The NFL released the dates for teams to begin their offseason training and the Eagles will be taking the practice field at the NovaCare Complex later this month.
Eagles OTA Dates
Players can voluntarily report to organized team activities (OTAs) starting on April 21. Additionally, there are workouts scheduled for May 27-28, May 30 and from June 2-3 and June 5. Mandatory minicamp will commence on June 10.
This year the Eagles have just a one-day mandatory minicamp, perhaps looking to scale back the workload coming off the Super Bowl win playing into February. Every other team in the league has at least two days scheduled. Nick Sirianni, who enforced a mandatory minicamp for the first time in his tenure as head coach last year, which was a three-day stretch, was criticized early on for his reduced workload decision, although it yielded remarkable long-term results.
It will be interesting to see how many players participate in the voluntary workouts, where most veterans across the league tend to take those days off to give them extra rest. However, this Eagles team could be hungry to get on the same page as soon as possible.
What to Look For
Nick Sirianni has preached that the team loves to breed a competitive atmosphere and culture in the locker room and on the practice field. That should not differ in year five for the head coach. The team has brought in a handful of young players with plenty to prove to push the incumbents on the roster at certain positions to get the most out of everyone.

On top of the competition, during OTAs and the minicamp, a lot of the focus will be on the younger players who are expected to take a bigger role with the team with the key losses during the offseason with the likes of Moro Ojomo, Jaylx Hunt and Kenyon Green expected to be given a good number of reps to try and replaces the departures of Josh Sweat, Milton Williams, Mekhi Becton along with the other pieces that the team added such as A.J. Dillon to be the backup to Saquon Barkley, Adoree’ Jackson as a depth piece in the secondary and Avery Williams, who Nick Sirianni lauded over during the NFL Owner meetings last week.
It will also be the first chance for new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to put his fingerprints on the offensive gameplan for the upcoming season while new quarterback coach Scott Loeffler and Jalen Hurts will start to work side by side as the Super Bowl MVP looks to turn in yet another successful season under center despite a fourth offensive coordinator in the last five years.
Don’t be surprised if the Eagles have a high percentage of participation early in the off-season workouts to develop that continuity with another new offensive coordinator and new faces on the defensive side.
