The Eagles head into the 2025 draft with very few holes but a need to upgrade some positions. Howie has done a great job filling the roster with talented lower-cost, free agents, and now he wants week-one production from his top few picks. The Birds are all in for another Super Bowl run!
The Eagles enter the draft with eight picks. In round one, 32, round two, 64, round three, 96, round four, 134, and round five with four selections, 161,164,165, & 168.
The Eagles Ultimate Draft:
Round One pick 32- Bobby Boucher LB South Central Louisiana
The Eagles finally address the elephant in the (draft) room. After over 40 years of not drafting an off-ball linebacker in round one, Howie Roseman shocks the draft world by selecting one of the most violent LBs to come out of college in a long time. Pairing Boucher with Zack Baun will be a nightmare for opposing offensive coordinators. If you do not believe in Bobby and his Mama, you’re wrong, Colonel Sanders.
Round Two pick 64- Vontae Mack LB Ohio State
The Eagles used a first-round pick at LB and used their valuable second-round pick. For a fanbase that has begged the team to draft LBers, they have added the two best in the draft. How Vic Fangio uses his new weapons on the edge and the outside will be fascinating.
Round Three pick 96- Al Bundy RB Polk High
Someone has taken over Howie’s body. After drafting linebackers in rounds one and two unprecedentedly, he again does the unthinkable and selects a running back before addressing the trenches. Bundy has the “it” factor and has come up with his biggest efforts in the biggest moments. His 4 TD performance in the city championship is the stuff of legends. To this day, you can not go anywhere in Polk County without hearing a bartender (or a local shoe salesman) bring up their local hero’s performance. Bundy is the highest RB they have selected in the draft since Miles Sanders in 2019.
Round Four Pick 134- DL Becky “IceBox” O’Shea
This move is self explanatory. The “IceBox” paired with Nolan Smith and Jalen Carter will create an unstoppable force.
TRADE ALERT
The Eagles are trading a 2026 RD5 pick and WR Ainias Smith to the Arizona Cardinals for WR Rod Tidwell.
Rod ‘Show Me The Money’ Tidwell is now a Philadelphia Eagle! Howie traded for the disgruntled wideout after former Eagles DC Jon Gannon, now Arizona Cardinals Head Coach, refused to pay their emerging star receiver. Agent Jerry McGuire has a lot of clients on the Eagles, and he and Howie worked out an extension before announcing the deal. The Eagles have a new WR in the nest and seem to be searching for a trade partner to move Jahan Dotson.
Round Five Pick 161 — Uncle Rico QB
The Eagles traded Kenny Pickett, making Tanner McKee the undisputed QB2. Now, the Eagles are drafting the rawest QB talent in the draft to compete with DTR as their QB3. Rico is a project, to be sure, but if the Eagles QB coach can harness and refine his skills, they could have the best QB in the 2025 draft class on their hands. Rico dreamed of winning the BCS championship for the University of Idaho but now has his sights set on an NFL Super Bowl. Long live the QB factory.
Round Five pick 164- Forrest Gump KR, Alabama
The Eagles have not had a game-breaking returner in decades, if ever, and now they have the most productive kick-off returner in college football history. With the new NFL kick-off rules implemented in 2024, Gump has the potential to be a game-changer. The Eagles fell in love with the heartfelt story of a determined kid who wore braces on his legs as a child and persevered in learning how to walk, run, and then become the greatest kick-returner in college football history. Forrest is all heart, and Eagles fans can’t wait to reciprocate the love. Gump said he looked forward to “running.”
Round Six Pick 165- Stefan Djordjevic CB
Is Stefan undersized? Sure, but Howie is throwing another dart at a player with the physical traits he loves at the position. Time will tell if Roseman finally lands an everyday starter after numerous late-round picks of misfit corners.
Round Five pick 168 Brian “Smash” Williams RB Dillon Panthers HS
The Eagles had already drafted one running back, but the departure of Kenny Gainwell leaves a hole to fill, and the Eagles grabbed two cost-controlled backs rather than dipping back into free agency for another. (after signing Saquon Barkley last season) The Eagles will be patient in developing Smash, who overcame challenges he faced in High School before playing for Texas A&M University the past two seasons. He will likely force the Eagles to carry four RBs on their roster this season and push newly signed AJ Dillon to the practice squad or another team, assuming he proves healthy.
TRADE ALERT
The Eagles are trading WR Jahan Dotson to the Baltimore Ravens for a 6th-round pick and a 2027 3rd-round pick. Nobody in the league collects future assets more than Howie, and he will play with a stacked hand in 2027.
With Round Six Pick 183 — Phillip Finch OT, Wildcats
Finch is a massive tackle, a reported 450 to 500 lbs. He is deceptively fast for any human that size and could be moved from DT to OT to play guard, ala Mekhi Becton. The Eagles uncharacteristically avoided the offensive line early in the draft, then selected one of the more unique players since William “Refridgerator’ Perry way back in the eighties to end their time in Green Bay with a bang!
The Haul (9):
QB Uncle Rico
OT Phillip Finch
RBs Al Bundy and Brian ‘Smash’ Williams
WR Rod Tidwell
DT Becky ‘Ice Box” OShea
LBs Bobby Boucher and Vontae Mack
CB Stefan Djordjevic
Which pick do you feel will have the biggest impact in 2025?
