After a series win in Washington to start the season, the Philadelphia Phillies swing back to the Bank for their home opener against the Colorado Rockies. While the Phillies looked good down in DC, they did suffer a couple of dings and dents.
Before Monday’s game, Manager Rob Thomson gave updates on several Phillies dealing with injuries.
Phillies Injury Report
Trea Turner
After playing on Opening Day, shortstop Trea Turner has been held out of games due to a stiff back. He appeared on the field on Monday, taking ground balls.
“He’s going to hit [in the cages] and throw,” said Thomson. “If we don’t use him today, that gives us 2 full days [of rest].”
Thomson mentioned that he was feeling better.
JT Realmuto
Catcher JT Realmuto was removed from Saturday’s game as a precaution after fouling a ball off his foot. He did not play in Sunday’s game but re-entered the lineup for Monday’s home opener.
“He feels good. He’s going to be a little sore, but it won’t affect him,” reassured Thomson.

Weston Wilson
After suffering a left oblique strain early in Spring Training, Weston Wilson seems to have a timetable for his return.
“This week, he’s going to see live pitching,” said Thomson. “Hopefully, next week, he’ll start a rehab assignment.”
Once he returns, Wilson will become an important bat off the bench against left-handed pitching.
Ranger Suárez
With multiple back injuries in 2024, Ranger Suárez’s injury in Spring Training caused some worry. Thomson confirmed pregame that Ranger would be throwing tomorrow.
“Up-down bullpen Tuesday,” said Thomson.
A healthy Ranger Suárez would give the Phillies a certifiably dominant rotation in 2025. Taijuan Walker currently holds the 5th starter’s spot.
