While there have been a few years where the White House hasn’t seen the Super Bowl winners make their annual visit, it is set to welcome two winners this year after President Trump’s invitation to Super Bowl LIV winners: Kansas City Chiefs – making it a coincidental visit of the Super Bowl LIX winning Philadelphia Eagles and runners up.
Donald Trump set to host both the Philadelphia Eagles & Kansas City Chiefs
Just two years after the Eagles won their first Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years, before adding two consecutive Vince Lombardis four years later.
However, their win in 2020 coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic that kept the world in lockdown for a couple of months. The Chiefs did suffer from the adverse effects of the pandemic, lacking the freedom to carry out some of the usual post-Super Bowl activities. Among these activities was the annual visit of the Super Bowl winner to the White House.
However, the Chiefs will be making up for the lost visit after five years, meeting the same President who led the Nation during that Super Bowl win.

President Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office on January 20th, just in time to grace the Eagles’ victory over the 2020 winners as the President of the United States.
And after extending his invitation to the Eagles, he has also expressed his desire to welcome the Chiefs to 1600, Pennsylvania Avenue, this year.
“I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing, we’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID,” Donald Trump told Clay Travis.
As much as this visit makes up for their 2020 miss, the Chiefs team that lost 40-22 to the Eagles at Super Bowl LIX wears a very different look from the team that defeated San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in 2020. Hence, the way the visit will pan out isn’t exactly clear.
However, key figures, like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and head coach Andy Reid are still with the Kansas City Chiefs five years later.
The Chiefs have enjoyed plenty of success since then, including a 38-35 win over Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LVII in 2023. However, two years later, at Super Bowl LIX, the Eagles avenged their loss at State Farm Stadium in Gendle, Arizona, with a thumping victory at the Caesars SuperDome last month.
Thanks to the Eagles’ watertight defense, their victory over the Chiefs was one of the most disappointing displays from Kansas City in recent history, as their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes put up a lackluster show that led to a 34-6 score at the end of the third quarter. With the win, the Eagles prevented them from making NFL history as the first team to win the Super Bowl thrice in a row.
The Eagles also will be visiting the White House for the first time in their history this year after a few clashes prevented them from making it to the White House in 2018 when they won their first Super Bowl.
