According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their pass-rush with the signing of Azeez Ojulari on a one-year deal worth $4M.

Ojulari is 24 years old and has spent the opening portion of his career with the New York Giants. He registered a career-high 6 sacks in 2024 along with 10 QB hits and 7 TFL. Drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ojulari has battled injuries throughout his young career, but still has plenty of upside, as evidenced by his impressive year on an otherwise struggling defense.

He ends his tenure with New York having amassed 107 tackles, 22 sacks, and 37 QB hits.

As a former Georgia Bulldog, you won’t find a more Howie-Esque signing than this, with Ojulari set to join a defensive front featuring Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, and Jordan Davis.

Much like Saquon Barkley last year, the 6’3, 240 lbs edge-rusher will depart the G-Men to join their divisional rivals.

His fit with the Eagles

As far as where he fits into the depth chart, he’s likely a rotational pass-rusher who can compete with newlysigned Josh Uche and second-year player Jalyx Hunt in the Summer for a snap share. Outside of his rookie year, he’s yet to play in more than 60% of defensive snaps in a single season, highlighting his previous usage in this role.

The Eagles now at least have a solid body of pass-rushers to pick from on the outside, giving them some flexibility when it comes to finding some long-term options over the next couple of draft classes.
