The Eagles always draft a year ahead, as not to have needs heading into an NFL Draft. Tight End could be the position they value with a premium (top 3-round) pick this year. There are many options in this year’s class whether you desire a receiver, a blocker, or an H-back style player.

Many will be showcasing their talent in Indianapolis on Friday, February 28th in from of the NFL Scouts and more. The Eagles will focus a bit more on these prospects due to the pending need with Dallas Goedert’s future up in the air after next season.

Let’s take a look at 10 tight ends that could interest the Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Tight Ends

Tyler Warren, Penn St, is the best TE in class. He is a lethal weapon with the ball, exhibits a high football IQ, and has an HS QB background. Tyler is a pariah in the red zone, using his body and height to bully defenders. Warren has great hands over the middle and down the seam. He stacks defenders vertically and can be a difference-making weapon for an offense that utilizes his skill sets properly.

Gunnar Helm, Texas, has the frame, hands, body control, and above-average route running with the YAC ability that every GM looks for. Gunnar loves watching game films and is never satisfied. Helm is dedicated to improving. He can thrive in 12 personnel and is the best run blocker in class. He uses his body well to shield and excels in space. Gunnar is my favorite target for the Eagles at the position.

Luke Lachey, Iowa, has great size and mobility to pair with it. He is a relentless worker and has NFL bloodlines. His wide catch radius, coupled with excellent body control and good hands will attract many suitors in the NFL Draft. Lachey had a low drop rate in college, ran nice routes, was reliable, and is a savvy player who can contribute day one, pro-style offense.

Oronde Gadsden II, Syracuse, has an elite burst, great body control, and a developed route tree. Oronode uses speed to dominate from the slot and exudes outside WR ability. He creates space, is explosive after the catch, and wins 50/50 balls. I went to watch him twice and left impressed twice. Gadsden II has ball skills, and will be a weapon at the next level!

Terrance Ferguson, Oregon, his NFL draft Production improved year over year and will continue to get better in the NFL. He has reliable hands, and makes himself an easy target. He will quickly become his QB’s best friend on the field. Terrance is versatile; plays outside or from the slot and is a red zone threat. He comes up big in big moments. He also does the little things and dirty work in run blocking and pass pro.

Harold Fannin Jr, Bowling Green, was PFF’s highest overall graded tight end at 95.7. Harold was first in pass route grading at 96.1 among all receivers, nationally, first in broken tackles, and second in receptions. Fannin has sticky hands, and is a vertical threat, constantly winning one-on-one. The Eagles value, and demand, run blocking from their TE1 and Harold had a 73.2 run block grade, one of the best in class. He is a player the Eagles will be keeping extra tabs on.

Elijah Arroyo, Miami, is a superb route runner, and has an elite on-field awareness to create space and find soft coverage. When Arroyo has the rock, he creates YAC, and attacks defenders for extra yards. His wide catch radius is a factor in the red zone and his legs stretch the field with his speed on vertical routes. He is also willing to block. There is a lot of upside for teams looking to develop a long-term TE on their roster.

Colston Loveland, Michigan, has the best hands in class. Colston looks & plays like a wide receiver. Loveland exhibits a fluidity on the field, while also being twitchy for size. He criminally abuses LBs with his route running prowess and always finds the open spot in the defense. Colston fights for extra yards when the ball is in his hands and uses his basketball background to block defenders and win contested catches.

Mason Taylor, LSU, is a chain mover. He gets open, makes receptions, gains YAC, and wins contested catches. Mason has been moved around the line to create mismatches, and in the right scheme, he will flourish. Taylor displayed a larger route tree at the Senior Bowl than at LSU. He has excellent hands and boasts an anemic 1.8% drop rate.

Jake Briningstool, Clemson, gets vertical and abuses LBs and S over the top. Jake fights for the ball and wins contested catches. He has shown an above-burst, good hands, and route-running ability. He also has shown a knack for creating yards after the catch. Briningstool is a solid blocker who will only improve once in the NFL. He performed well at the Senior Bowl versus some of the nation’s top talent.
