As the Sixers‘ season continues to approach a merciful finish, another injury update has been made available ahead of the team’s Wednesday night matchup against the New York Knicks.
From the latest news on Eric Gordon and his mysterious wrist injury to the continued absence of Joel Embiid, the latest on injuries from the team’s previous game, and the likely return of Justin Edwards, here is your latest Sixers’ injury update.
Eric Godon to undergo wrist surgery
As their Tuesday injury came out, the Sixers made a separate announcement, detailing what’s to come for veteran guard Eric Gordon. According to the team, Gordon will undergo surgery on his right wrist on Wednesday following consultations with several specialists The Sixers also said that further updates will be provided as appropriate.

While it’s not yet official, this seems like the end of Gordon’s season. Signed to a veteran minimum deal with the expectation of having a moderate role off the bench for the Sixers, if his season is truly over, Gordon will have only played 39 games, starting in 13 of them, and averaging 6.8 points on 40.9% from three.
Gordon has a player option for next season in the amount of $3.4 million. Should he decide to pursue an 18th season in the league, Gordon will likely pick up that option.
More of the same for Joel Emiid
In the Sixers’ Tuesday evening injury report, the team listed Joel Embiid as one of the many names who would be absent against the Knicks. Embiid missed the Sixers’ matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Monday after it was announced that the former MVP and the team consult with additional doctors and considering aaelternative options regarding Embiid’s knee condition.

Like Gordon, there has been no official word yet on the length of time may miss. However, if the answer to their questions is another procedure, it’s possible Joel Embiid has played his last this season.
The latest on Quentin rimes and Gurschon Yausele
Last night saw two new injuries for the Sixers. Trade deadline acquisition Quentin Grimes had a flair up of knee tendinitis whie Guerschon Yabusele experience abrasions in both eyes. Grimes is expected to return to the court on Wedesday while Yabuslele OUT for the game against the Knicks.
