PHILADELPHIA— Aaron Nola has become a staple in the city of Philadelphia.

When Nola isn’t on the mound striking out opposing hitters, he spends his time giving back to the city and the individuals who have given him the opportunity of a lifetime.

The Phillies right hander is very active in the community, giving back to veterans who have served in the United States military. Nola has been a longtime partner with Team Red, White, & Blue, a nonprofit organization that aims to support former troops who have returned home from service.

The charity and efforts are near and dear to Aaron’s heart. “Team Red, White & Blue is a remarkable organization, and I’m thrilled to announce this new charity poker tournament to benefit our veteran community,” said Nola. “It is our hope to raise more than $250,000 for this important cause, and I look forward to joining my teammates, partners and fans for a fun evening at the ballpark on May 15.”

Nola Gives Back

Partering with both Team RWB and Yuengling, Aaron and his wife Hunter have hosted two events in recent years to raise money for the organization. Those events had taken place at Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, and Nola’s friends, family, and teammates joined him for a fun evening of bowling.

This year, Aaron is switching it up. The team is now going to host a charity poker tournament at the CP Rankin club in Citizens Bank Park. On May 15th, fans, veterans, and members of the Phillies organization will have a chance to play and raise money.

“Aaron Nola’s unwavering commitment to supporting veterans in partnership with Team RWB over the last three years sets a gold standard among elite American athletes,” said Mike Erwin, Founder and Executive Director of Team RWB. “This event will not only raise funds for our mission but will also have a lasting impact by showing a future generation of service members that they will be supported by their nation.”

“Yuengling Brewery is proud to support Team RWB in their work to support America’s Veterans. Their programs and ongoing support align with our interest in supporting the U.S. military and the sacrifices they make to keep our country safe,” said Dick Yuengling, Chief Executive Officer and Owner, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. “Aaron Nola puts on an excellent event to raise additional funds from the community and make more people aware of this great cause. We look forward to joining the Phillies, Aaron, and Team RWB this May to combine efforts and support our nation’s heroes.”
