Kellen Moore has made an incredible rise up the coaching ranks since starting his career in 2018 as the quarterbacks coach for the Dallas Cowboys. The former NFL quarterback was promoted to offensive coordinator after only one season working with the QB room. Even after Jason Garrett was fired in Dallas, then-new coach Mike McCarthy retained Moore’s services in the OC position for the next three seasons. After a 2023 playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round, Moore and Dallas decided to part company.
That choice landed Kellen Moore in Philadelphia, ending in a Super Bowl Championship for the Eagles in 2025. Moore helped to lead one of the most prolific post-season offenses of all time in Philadelphia. The Eagles posted their best rushing season in franchise history and the most points in the playoffs by any team in NFL history.
In New Orleans, Kellen Moore will help restore a proud franchise after a 5-12 season that saw the team finish in the basement of the NFC South. Saints fans and management will need some patience as Moore enters a disastrous cap situation. New Orleans is $54.1 million over the salary cap in 2025, the worst in the NFL. With eight picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft, the Saints will start the process of rebuilding a winner in the Big Easy under Kellen Moore’s direction.
As for the Eagles, according to Zach Berman of PHLY Sports, Eagles’ pass game coordinator Kevin Patullo is the team’s top internal candidate. It will be interesting to see the direction that the team chooses to go in after such a successful season and an even better postseason for the offense.
