The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Boston Celtics on Sunday, Feb. 2. Ahead of their matchup, the Sixers released an injury report and listed several players’ latest statuses.

Most notable was Joel Embiid, who will not take the floor once again in this upcoming game. Embiid continues to recover from a knee condition. Initially missing six games near the beginning of January due to a sore foot, it was announced on Jan. 17 that Embiid’s knee had seen an increase in swelling and that he would be temporarily held out of action and reevaluated in seven to ten business days.

After those ten days, there was no real update, just more absences for Embiid. This upcoming game against Boston will be his 15th straight missed game, and there is still no clarity on where he is in relation to a potential return.

Also absent Sunday night will be Paul George, who continues to miss time due to an injury to the extensor tendon in his left fifth finger. While the initial injury had been called a jammed finger, the real issue is that the jammed finger caused an injury to the extensor tendon, which is truly the issue. The injury to that particular tendon causes cases of mallet finger or discomfort associated with the finger(s).

KJ Martin continues to recover from a partial foot fracture. Meanwhile, Andre Drummond and Caleb Martin are listed as questionable.
