In just under a month, Phillies pitchers and catchers will report to Clearwater, Fla. to begin Spring Training ahead of the 2025 season. With the defense of their National League East title and a run for the World Series in their sightline, the Phillies have a lot of work to do to prepare for the grueling marathon.
On Tuesday, Major League Baseball announced the report dates for all 30 teams. Additionally, the Phillies announced their contingent of non-roster invites (NRI’s) to Spring Training. Let’s take a moment to break down the important dates of Spring Training as well as who will take part in the Phillies’ major league camp this season.
Important Dates Of Spring Training
As always, pitchers and catchers have the early call date to Spring Training to begin loosening up ahead of the season, for the Phillies, pitchers and catchers report by Wednesday, February 12. The remainder of the team will join them the following Monday, February 17.
Five days later, Grapefruit League action begins for the Phillies as they travel to Lakeland for a matchup against the Detroit Tigers. The following day, Sunday, February 23, BayCare Ballpark will see its first round of Spring Training action as the Phillies host the Baltimore Orioles. Once Spring Training kicks off, the Phillies only have two scheduled off days on March 3 and 12. St. Patrick’s Day is always one of the more popular days of Spring Training baseball.
This year, the Phillies are split-squad against the Toronto Blue Jays on St. Patrick’s Day. At the time of publishing, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Spring Training broadcast schedule has yet to be released.
