The Philadelphia 76ers provided an injury update to the media earlier this afternoon following a practice session at their Camden, NJ, training facility. A few hours later, the team officially submitted their injury report to the league, which stated that several Sixers will miss tomorrow’s game against the Washington Wizards.

According to the Sixers’ 3:30 p.m. injury report, Joel Embiid and Paul George will miss the Wednesday night matchup against Washington. Kyle Lowry, KJ Martin, Jared McCain, and Pete Nance also remain out, and backup center Andre Drummond is officially questionable.

While the Wizards are far from the fiercest competition, the Sixers can spare no scheduled losses the rest of this season. Despite the Wizards’ record, it’s difficult to feel confident with so many players, including two of the Sixers’ stars, set to miss a game.

This will be Paul George’s 11th missed game of the season and Embiid’s 22nd. Philadelphia continues to struggle this season as it struggles to find an edge over the injury bug.

The Sixers sit at just 14-20 on the season. As bad as the Wizards have been (6-27), half of the team’s wins have come within their last 10 games. Philadelphia has been a bit of a get-right team this season for the likes of the Kings, Warriors, and, most recently, the Phoenix Suns.

You can only do so much to battle health issues, but the Sixers’ season is slipping through their fingers, and the only ones who can stop it are the Sixers themselves.
