The 2025 NBA All-Star Game is set for Sunday, Feb. 16. Among the potential participants, there are three members of the Philadelphia 76ers who are expected to have a shot at making the game. Two have been perennial All-Stars: seven-time All-Star Joel Embiid and nine-time All-Star Paul George, while the third, Tyrese Maxey, enjoyed his first trip to the ASG last year.

On Thursday, Jan 2, the first results from the fan-voting were released by the NBA and included all three of the Sixers’ expected potential All-Stars. Tyrese Maxey, who has played in more games and at a consistently higher level than Embiid and George this season, led the way in votes among Sixers (246,648) but only ranked seventh among Eastern Conference guards. Embiid received the eight most votes (170,420) among EC Forwards, and Paul George was right behind him in ninth place (167,613).

The Sixers have faced a mountain of struggles this season. Philadelphia sits at 13-18 on the season and has faced injury after injury along the way. It’s not surprising to see these players so far down the voting list due to their absence and lack of success. As Philadelphia continues to improve and their Big 3 begins to build chemistry, those numbers may continue to rise, but for now, the team has bigger fish to fry than the NBA fan vote.

Philadelphia must find a path to returning to their winning ways. If the wins begin to roll in, so will the votes from fans. More importantly, so will the support from fellow players, media members, and NBA coaches.
