The Philadelphia Eagles have released their final injury report ahead of this weekend’s crucial clash with the Baltimore Ravens, and unfortunately for Birds fans, there’s some bad news.
Eagles vs Ravens: Injury report
Darius Slay has been listed as OUT after suffering a concussion in the win over the Rams. Isaiah Rodgers figures to be the immediate replacement after putting in a solid effort in relief of the veteran last Sunday.
Slay has endured an up-and-down season opposite rookie sensation Quinyon Mitchell, while Rodgers was originally pegged to be Philly’s CB2 before a late summer injury stunted that journey. He’ll have a chance to prove himself against Baltimore’s playmakers on Sunday.
Elsewhere, DeVonta Smith is questionable with a hamstring injury that has been hampering him for a few weeks now. The Alabama product missed the game against Los Angeles and could well miss his second in a row, leaving the Eagles short-handed against a vulnerable pass defense.
The Birds do have enough depth to cover the temporary loss of Smitty, who has once again been excellent this year. Instead of pivoting to the likes of Johnny Wilson or Ainias Smith, the team rolled out more 3-TE formations and focused on pounding the rock, something that worked out brilliantly for Saquon Barkley as he rallied his way to a stunning 255 rushing yards on the night.
Johnny Wilson and Sydney Brown are also listed as questionable, while Ben VanSumeren has been listed as OUT.
The Eagles and Ravens will lock horns in a real clash of titans on Sunday afternoon at 4:25PM from M&T Bank Stadium.
