PHILADELPHIA, PA — Ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers‘ matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, head coach Nick Nurse took to the podium to address the media. Among the many topics addressed was the health of Sixers’ star Paul George, for which Nurse had a generally positive update, all things being equal.
“[The medical team] got the imaging, and there was nothing there,” Nurse said. “They said it’s kind of the same thing that happened, but [to a] little lesser extent, not as bad as last time. They said two games for sure; reevaluate on Monday. I did speak with him this morning, and he said, he said pretty much the same thing; that didn’t feel as bad, and [he] hopes to get back as soon as he can… I think for sure, it’s a relief that they think it’s not as serious as the last one.”
Obviously, George missing any time is not ideal. However, as Nurse said, there is some relief that the situation is not as serious this time around even though it is the exact same type of injury.
The Sixers are beginning a stint of three consecutive games at home, beginning Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets, followed by a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, and to finish the homestand, a game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Nov. 27. George will be reevaluated on Monday, Nov. 25, between the Clippers and Rockets games.
It’s far from ideal, but what’s one most mishap considering all that the Sixers have labored through this young season?
