Sixers‘ forward Paul George was featured on Complex’s popular Sneaker Shopping web show with Joe La Puma. Complex and La Puma’s Sneaker Shopping show has been a popular web series for over a decade, starting in 2011 with rapper Jim Jones. The show features host Joe La Puma discussing sneakers and the guest’s connection to particular pairs of shoes. The show has featured many different musicians, actors, entertainers, and more.
During this episode, which took place in Philadelphia at Lapstone & Hammer, a sneaker boutique known for its exclusive sneakers and creative collaborations, George and La Puma took about a list of topics. They discussed George’s signature shoe from Nike, the design and thought process behind it, and how popular the shoe was amongst players in the league. George’s signature show with Nike ended after its sixth model, but there is hope that a few of his models will be reintroduced.
The two also talked about the online conspiracy about him wearing the Kobe 4 “Philly” colorway in his last game with the Clippers. He responded that it was just a shoe he wore all series, and he didn’t know Philly was an option for him. George ended up purchasing some sneakers for himself, and Lapstone & Hammer gifted him three pairs of retro Air Jordans as a welcome gift to Philly. George has yet to debut in the regular season but could debut this week.
