What occurs off the rink can be as important as what happens on the rink. The Wells Fargo Center stepped up its game to bring fans the best food and retail experience ahead of its home opener for the 2024-2025 season. Last summer, the Wells Fargo Center hired Adrienne Briones-Carlson as Vice President of Retail.

“The expectations from sports fans on their retail has evolved over the last several years, and we’re excited to offer aspirational, high-quality, and affordable items for every type of fan,” Briones-Carlson, who brings 20 years of experience to the center, stated.

This holds accurate as the retail game has stepped up big time after stepping into OutPHItters and Threads. The Vault is another store with throwback-inspired pieces with a more vintage feel.

The apparel ranges in price but still upholds the same excellent quality. When I stepped in Threads, their wall of hats blew me away. As an avid hat wearer, I looked at some unique hats: baseball-style caps with the Flyers logo and sparkles. However, another hat that caught my eye was a winter hat with a pom-pom on top.

The hats ranged in different prices, but $30—$39 is what the retail price went for depending. Besides the hats in threads, they had a massive collection of sweatshirts, pullovers, and jackets. As someone who lives purely in sweatshirts, I prefer the pullover to change up my wardrobe. I was enlightened to see a white-based Flyers pullover that said, “Philadelphia Hockey Club.”

This was a classic take on the Philadelphia Flyers, and the old-school feel brought back nostalgia. With getting a size bigger to give me the oversized feel with the warm and comfortable material, the pullover came out to a $70 retail price. A piece like this pullover is timeless, and I’ll be able to rock this for years to come with how excellent the quality is.

Finally, I wanted to have my Flyers memorabilia, so I picked up a Wayne Simmonds signed puck. While the selection for pucks was immense, nothing beats a signed puck from one of the most beloved players to wear the orange and the black. The retail price of the puck was $14, which makes it a great gift or just a way to add to your Flyers memorabilia, as I did.

Now, with all the dinner-time puckdrops, be sure to come hungry. You can get a variety of foods, such as AC Subs, which has Italian Hoagies and Cheesesteaks. If you’re feeling finger foods, Reading Terminal Nachos is a good option, and it’s big enough to share. Wraps, Pizza, and Tacos are in the Wells Fargo Center.

The variety of food genuinely caters to everyone’s palate and most dietary needs. As gluten- and dairy-free, I can always find something since most items you can customize. If you want an adult-friendly drink, the “Giggle Juice” is made with Champagne, Pink Whitney Vodka, and Sprite and served with Cherries and Lemons.

Overall, this hockey season, be prepared to enjoy the product you’ll see on and off the ice. With basketball season approaching, you can find the same foods and Sixers apparel with a trendy touch. The Wells Fargo Center has a new vibe this upcoming season because it’s genuinely catered to the fans this year.
