The Philadelphia Eagles are back on track following a win over the Cleveland Browns, but it wasn’t overly convincing. They’ll be hoping for a more poignant offensive display against the struggling New York Giants, and Vegas at least appears to agree with it being more of a probability than a possibility.

Eagles open up as road underdogs against the Giants
Philly fans will be hoping that their team can advance to 4-2 with a win over the Giants, a team they’ve beaten in 5 of their last 6 clashes. The Daniel Jones-led outfit has been inconsistent this season but were able to beat the Browns by more points than the Eagles were. While not a defining metric, it’s probably a sign these teams are more tightly matched than we think.
The big narrative here is of course the return of Saquon Barkley, who left the team that drafted him to join the Eagles this past offseason. Since then, he’s been an absolute game-changer for this offense, single-handedly changing the courses of contests and ranking 4th in rushing through the opening 5 games. Will Saquon be able to rub salt in the wound against the Giants, or will his former team have one last laugh?
Philly will also be heading into this game without Jordan Mailata, who has suffered a hamstring injury. Veteran Fred Johnson will be responsible for protecting Jalen’s blindside against a defense that ranks first in the league in sack percentage. The Eagles are going to need to find a rhythm offensively, as the G-men won’t make it easy.
The Giants bring a lot of untapped potential to the table. Malik Nabers has 383 yards and 3 touchdowns already this year, with the rookie finally giving Giants fans a level of excitement for a wideout not felt since the days of Odell Beckham Jr. With a strong core of playmakers, it always comes down to whether Daniel Jones can do the job to get them over the line – something he’s rarely able to do consistently.
Philly’s defense took a huge step forward against the Browns, rallying to a flurry of sacks and big stops. The arrival of Cooper DeJean was welcomed by the fanbase, with the rookie safety getting stuck in straight away and presenting a new element of terror in the pass-rush. If the D can stay hot, this could become a real slugfest unless the Philly offense can finally establish and sustain momentum.
