On Monday morning, just before the team’s annual Media Day, the Sixers announced the signing of Isaiah Mobley and Jordan Tucker to a pair of Exhibit 10 deals.
Mobley, the 25-year-old power forward, was drafted in 2022 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he spent the past two seasons alongside his younger brother Evan. At 6’10”, Mobley could offer the Sixers some much-needed height and rebounding ability to a guard-heavy rotation. In 23 games with the Cavs’ G-League affiliate last season, Mobley averaged an impressive 17.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. Most of his rebounds – 6.5 per game – were defensive, something that likely influenced the signing as the Sixers ranked a miserable 23rd place last season in DREB.
The Exhibit-10 deal offers Mobley a bonus of up to $77.5K if he spends at least 60 days with the Sixers organization and is waived. The team has already filled their three two-way spots with Justin Edwards, Jeff Dowtin Jr., and Lester Quinones, but Mobley could potentially compete for one of those spots if he performs well and the team needs an extra rebounder.
As for Jordan Tucker, the 26-year-old wing out of Butler has been a journeyman since his freshman year playing for the Duke Blue Devils. After transferring to Butler and then going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, Tucker spent the 2021-22 season with various G League teams, including the Windy City Bulls, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Tucker has since bounced around leagues overseas, playing in Macedonia, Bulgaria, and France.
