The Philadelphia Flyers (3-1-0) will travel to Long Island tonight for a tilt with the New York Islanders (2-2-0). Last Thursday, Samuel Ersson posted a 37-save shutout against the Islanders in a 2-0 victory.
On Saturday, the Flyers defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 courtesy of a Matvei Michkov overtime-winning goal. Michkov lit the lamp twice in the victory over Boston, and through three preseason games, Michkov has six points (3G, 3A). Michkov will have the night off tonight against the Islanders.

Goaltender Alexei Kolosov will play in tonight’s game. Ivan Fedotov will get the start, but Kolosov will make an appearance. The 22-year-old Belarusian prospect reported to Flyers Training Camp last Thursday. He didn’t report to rookie camp and missed the first week of training camp due to undisclosed issues that he and his camp previously had.
In the win over the Bruins, Olle Lycksell had two assists and six shots on net. During 2023-24, Lycksell saw 18 games with the Flyers, scoring five points (1G, 4A). He has impressed in his preseason showings so far and is in the race to make the main roster when training camp concludes.

New York Islanders
The Islanders have two preseason games remaining. On Friday night against the New Jersey Devils, the Islanders cruised to a 5-1 win. Fredrik Karlstrom, Kyle MacLean, Bo Horvat, Liam Foudy, and Oliver Wahlstrom all lit the lamp.
The Islanders made the playoffs last season and can be a sneaky team in the Metropolitan Division again this year. A lot of their success will rely on goaltender Ilya Sorokin who was injured during his offseason training. Sorokin hasn’t participated in training camp yet, but head coach Patrick Roy is not concerned regarding the health of his star goaltender.
The Islanders’ lineup will be released closer to puck drop.
