The Philadelphia Eagles have released their first injury report ahead of the team’s week 3 clash with the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately for Birds fans, it does look like the team will be without A.J Brown once again.

Only two players are listed on the report: wideouts A.J Brown and Johnny Wilson. The pair were listed on last week’s injury report due to hamstring setbacks, with Brown eventually missing the week 2 loss to Atlanta. Wilson did play in the contest however, playing in 27% of offensive snaps. There is more chance of the rookie receiver playing as a result.

As for Brown, the sky is not so clear. Nick Sirianni (Via WIP & hat tip to athlon sports) said the following:

“We’ll see. Obviously, it’s too early to tell right now. We’ve got to be prepared if he’s playing and we’ve got to be prepared if he’s not playing.”

The offense did look pretty good in wake of Brown’s injury. DeVonta Smith commanded the defense’s attention throughout the night en-route to a 76-yard and 1 TD performance. However, Jahan Dotson hardly featured which is a little confusing. Instead, Hurts turned the way of Britain Covey, who looked a little out-muscled at times despite his flurries of speed.

If there was ever a game the team needs both a receiver and leader like A.J Brown, it’s against an offense as explosive as the Saints. They’ve ripped through both the Panthers and Cowboys and there’s a high chance that the Eagles will find themselves in a shootout. As a result, missing a wideout who put up 119 yards in week 1 and has put together 2,952 yards over the last two years could have a huge impact.

The team faces the Saints this Sunday, so there is still time for Brown’s status to change. Eagles fans and players alike will be hoping that is the case.
