The Philadelphia Eagles broke some disheartening news on Sunday, revealing that WR A.J Brown will miss Monday’s contest against the Falcons after picking up a hamstring injury during the week.

The news also comes with compounding concern. Rookie wideout Johnny Wilson has also suffered a hamstring setback and is questionable for the game. While the final injury report is yet to be revealed, there is a chance that the team could be without both Brown and Wilson against Atlanta.

The absence of A.J Brown is obviously a big one. He led the team in receiving against Green Bay, as he has the team in both seasons he’s been an Eagle. Brown racked up 2,952 yards over that span along with 18 touchdowns and he picked right up where he left off against the Packers.

As far as his replacement goes, the Eagles do still have options. Recently-signed Jahan Dotson didn’t get a single target in the season-opener but could be primed for an expanded role with Brown now out. The Eagles could move him to the perimeter and give Britain Covey some starting reps following his scintillating summer body of work.

Parris Campbell is also an option, with the veteran currently stashed on the practice squad.

The Eagles still have DeVonta Smith, Saquon Barkley, and Dallas Goedert at their disposal, so it’s not like their offense has been drastically marginalized, and Smith specifically looked excellent in week 1, hauling in 7 of 8 targets and generating over 50 YAC. However, any time you lose a player of Brown’s talent and productivity, it’s obviously going to sting.

The Eagles and Falcons will clash under the Monday night lights in Philadelphia tomorrow evening.
