The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 following their win over the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. A mini-bye now separates them from a clash with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night, a game where the Eagles open up at 6.5 point favorites according to DraftKings.

The Birds are firm favorites ahead of their week 2 matchup against Atlanta. It will be Philadelphia’s home opener which certainly counts for some of the points here, but the fact that the Falcons struggled mightily in week 1 also skewed the scales.
Kirk Cousins could only throw for 155 yards, 1 TD, and 2 interceptions against the Pittsburgh defense. The Falcons’ offense only mustered 10 points on the day and while the defense stood tall to allow nothing but exclusively field goals in the 18-10 defeat, the offense’s inability to maintain any long-term momentum was worrying given the number of playmakers it features.
This is bad news for the Falcons’ offense. Philadelphia’s defense was impressive against Green Bay with the exception of one bad drive against the run. The linebackers looked strong, the secondary was tight, and all that remains for this group to reach its next level is to begin generating consistent pressure off the edge.
Philadelphia escaped São Paulo with a win despite not playing their best football. Jalen Hurts was far from his finest on the night, but a Saquon Barkley hat-trick of touchdowns lifted the team to a win over an NFC Championship-contending outfit. The Packers are a step above the Falcons in terms of talent, and with Atlanta quite literally throwing the game away through a flurry of endless sloppy mistakes, it presents Philadelphia a great opportunity to go 2-0.
