The Philadelphia Eagles have brought in a familiar face, signing offensive lineman Jack Driscoll to the team’s practice squad in a series of moves made Tuesday evening.
Speculation of Driscoll’s return first came following his appearance in the Eagles’ locker room, first reported by Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice.
Driscoll spent four seasons with the Eagles after being drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. During that time, he played in 54 games, starting in 17 of them. The offensive lineman was released by the Miami Dolphins on Aug. 28.
The return of Driscoll comes at a crucial time for Philadelphia, who faces questions on their offensive line stemming from both the retirement of Jason Kelce and a potential lack of depth. A versatile lineman, Driscoll has experience at both the guard and tackle spots, namely on the right side of the line.
The team also signed former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Phillips to the practice squad. The former fifth-round pick was released by the Titans on Aug. 27.
Of course, Driscoll’s return and Philip’s arrival must come at some cost, in this case, that of safety Caden Sterns and tight end Kevin Foelsch. The pair of players have been released in a corresponding move.
Sterns, a former fifth-round pick for the Broncos in 2021 played under current Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in his rookie season. During Week 1 of last season, Sterns suffered a torn patellar tendon in Week 1 that ended his season.
