After a full offseason of rumors surrounding the team’s offseason plans, the Philadelphia 76ers appear to be connected to one of the greatest shooters in the history of the NBA. Former Golden State Warriors Star and four-time NBA Champion Klay Thompson is looking for a new team. Among the list of potential suitors are the Philadelphia 76ers.

By all accounts, the 76ers are prioritizing Paul George early in free agency and hoping to add talent around him, Maxey, and Embiid. Klay Thompson fits perfectly with this core on paper, supplying a volume of shooting that not even new Lakers Head Coach JJ Reddick could supply.

This past year, the Golden State wing averaged 17.9 points per game on 9.0 three-pointers. He shot 38.7% from beyond the arc and is one of the best catch-and-shoot guys in the league, shooting 38.1% from beyond the arc.

While Klay Thompson is no longer the superstar guard he was during Golden State’s heyday, he is still one of the best volume shooters in the league. Now 34 years old, Thompson has lost a step in both finishing and defending, but he brings high-level veteran influence as well as a championship pedigree. Should he find his way to Philadelphia for this upcoming season, he could help the 76ers to have one of the best starting fives in the entire league.

Other teams that Klay has expressed interest in joining are the Mavericks, Lakers, and Clippers. With this list, it’s clear that Klay wants to show that he can still impact championship contenders and continue playing at a high level.
