Phillies vs Brewers: The Phillies welcomed Rhys Hoskins back to Citizens Bank Park on Monday evening and were able to eek out what must’ve been an emotional win. They’ll now be looking to repeat that feat in game 2 of their series against Milwaukee before heading overseas to face the Mets in London.

Phillies vs Cardinals: Pitching preview
Christopher Sanchez (3-3, 2.83 ERA) vs Colin Rea (4-2, 3.77 ERA)
After another big win, the Phillies are riding with Christopher Sanchez this evening. The lefty allowed no more than 3 runs in a single game through his starts in May although did allow 6+ hits on 4 occasions. This is something worth noting when looking at props for tonight’s game, given that the Brewers currently rank 3rd in batting average this season.
Across from Sanchez will be Colin Rea, who is very much on a similar trajectory to Sanchez right now. While is ERA is a little higher, the big difference is strikeouts. Rea has struck out 5 batters in 4 of his last 6 outings, although often at a cost of hits, with teams registering 5+ hits in that same span.
This is an interesting matchup on paper and one that could see plenty of offense as a result, but whether or not they convert into runs is another question entirely.
Phillies vs Brewers: Betting preview
The Phillies are favored to win the second game of this series and although they’re 5-5 in their last 10, they are 4-1 in their last 5. The Phils are picking up steam and as good as the Brewers offense can be, the Philadelphia bullpen has proven to be a Mountain too large to climb for many teams this season. I like the Phils outright here with the homefield advantage playing a key role.
Betting pick: Phillies -166
Prop bet fun
I actually think there’s some value on Christopher Sanchez’ strikeout line (5.5). He’s thrown 5+ in 4 of his last 5 games and the OVER here is +115. The Brewers are tied 7th for the most strikeouts in the league this season, and with the need to generate offense to keep up with the Fightin’s, the aggressiveness could prove costly. I like the plus money on this line.
