The Eagles open up the season as the host to the NFL’s first-ever game in Brazil on a Friday night. A matchup against the rising stars of the Green Bay Packers. A QB duel to open the season as Jordan Love goes toe to toe with a rejuvenated Jalen Hurts. Following that matchup, they will have another “home” game as they host the Falcons on Monday Night Football. Kirk Cousins will look to put his primetime curse to the test while Saquon Barkley will make his official home debut.
Following those “home” matchups, the Eagles will head down south to take on the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for back-to-back 1 pm games before they go on an early vacation with their BYE week in week 5 of the 2024 season. The schedule gets a bit interesting after their BYE as they play host to the Cleveland Browns in week 6. A matchup that will be circled by Eagles fans as Deshaun Watson and Jalen Hurts go head-to-head.
After the tough matchup against the Browns, the Eagles will travel up the turnpike to take on the New York Giants in New Jersey. This will be Saquon’s first game at Met Life Stadium while wearing midnight green. The Eagles have owned the Giants in recent years and an extra motivated Saquon Barkley can keep that going.
In weeks 8 and 9, the Eagles will take on two AFC contenders with the first one being the Cincinnati Bengals. This will mark the first heavyweight bout between Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts as they’ll be set to battle at 4:25 pm on October 27th. Shortly after, Philadelphia will travel back home to host their former Super Bowl-winning head coach, Doug Pederson, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This will be the second time that the team faces their former head coach as he tries to put a damper on the Eagles’ first Sunday Night Football game at the Linc. Could this be the first Kelly Green jersey game of the season? Next on the slate, the Eagles will take on their NFC East foes as they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in week 10 for a 4:25 pm game. Shortly after that game, the Birds will host the Commanders for their first slugfest of the season on short rest for a Thursday Night matchup at Lincoln Financial Field.
In weeks 12 through 15, the Eagles will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams on Sunday night football then head to Baltimore for a late afternoon game. Big matchups before coming home for back-to-back home stints against the Panthers and the Steelers before traveling to Washington to take on the Commanders in week 16. This will lead to them wrapping up the season in weeks 17 and 18 with another set of back-to-back home games against the Cowboys and Giants.
How do you think the Eagles will fare with this year’s schedule?
