It’s been another busy morning for Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly after announcing the signing of WR Parris Campbell, the team revealed that they have signed veteran CB Tyler Hall.
Who is Tyler Hall?
Hall is typically a slot corner who has spent his last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, having previously spent his rookie year with the Falcons as a UDFA, before a stint with the Rams in 2021.
He’s actually played 78% of his snaps from the slot, according to Glenn Erby of The Eagles Wire, which makes sense given his 5’10, 190 lbs frame. Hall tallied 20 tackles in both of his season with the Raiders, making 6 starts and playing in 18 total games in that span.
How does he fit the Eagles?
The Wyoming product brings plenty of versatility and experience to the Eagles secondary, which is something the team craved having previously parted ways with Avonte Maddox. The team now at least has a player who has proven himself at the NFL level in that spot and who can provide support in a pinch, as well as special teams upside, having played in 29% of snaps there in 2023.
He’ll likely be competing with Zech McPhearson this Summer, but don’t be surprised to see the Eagles add another name or two between now and the start of Training Camp.
