The Eagles continue to fill up the holes in their offense as they have now signed WR Devante Parker. Parker fills a void at the WR3 position as the Eagles may move on from Quez Watkins and Julio Jones this offseason. The added competition to the WR room can only benefit the Eagles in what looks to be a bounce-back season for the franchise.
The Eagles and former Patriots/Dolphins WR DeVante Parker have agreed on a 1-year, $4.69 million fully guaranteed deal. Philadelphia is only responsible for $1.2 million as the Patriots will be responsible for the rest.
Parker is coming off an extremely down year in a terrible Patriots offense. He finished last season with 394 receiving yards on 33 receptions and no touchdowns. There won’t be much from an expectation standpoint but he will be expected to execute in an offense filled with talent.
Hurts gets another target with a big catch radius. During Parker’s prime in Miami, he put up 4,727 receiving yards while averaging 14 yards per reception and 24 touchdowns. During his two years in New England, he tallied 933 receiving yards and three touchdowns while averaging 14.6 yards per reception.
This a solid move for depth but I would expect the Eagles to look for some speed in the draft to help compliment DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown for the upcoming season.
