Every Spring, the Phillies pack their truck and head down to Clearwater, Florida to start their season.
BayCare Ballpark is the host of the Phils during Spring Training, as well as the home of the Clearwater Thrashers, the team’s A-ball club.
Much like last season at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies have invested money back into their facilities. In a way, it’s giving back to the fans who have shown immense support during back-to-back Red Octobers and beyond.
Phillies Announce Upgrades
One of the biggest upgrades to BayCare Ballpark is the sound system that has been installed.
This new audio system will allow the team to broadcast music, announcements, and all sorts of fun to the fans throughout the stadium. The Phillies did the same last season in Philadelphia and their new system helped spark a home-field advantage unlike any other.
Another new amenity that is free to all fans is Wi-Fi. Fans will now have access to free Wi-Fi all across the complex, creating a tech-healthy environment. This is something that most sporting venues have been adding to their locations, as it helps fans connect their devices.
Whether you want to send updates to a family member, post pictures of your experience at a Phillies game, or call for an Uber afterward, this access will help fans accomplish their needs.
New Foods and Beverages
How can we talk about a baseball stadium and not mention the wonderful food and beverage options that they bring?
New food choices have been added to BayCare Ballpark, including some Philadelphia area favorites.
The biggest announcement was that Manco & Manco would be setting up shop at the Clearwater complex. After recently migrating off the Jersey Shore and into Citizens Bank Park, this Ocean City staple is taking its talents down South.
In addition to Manco & Manco, other food stops now include Coco’s Crush Bar, Charlie’s Homemade Italian Ice, Little Greek Fresh Grill, and Moe’s Southwest Grill. These new stops pair with some of the other staples that have been featured in BayCare Ballpark in years past.
Coco’s Crush Bar can be located in left field near Frenchy’s Tiki Bar. Charlie’s Homemade Italian Ice can now be found at Bullpen Grille, Strike Out Café, and Home Run Grille. Located at Strike Out Café, Little Greek is bringing great Greek options to BayCare Ballpark such as falafel, gyro, and baklava.
Debut of Merchandise
It would not be a new baseball season without some new merchandise available to style.
The official 2024 Spring Training hats and the hats that the team will wear on St. Patrick’s Day this year have been revealed.
There is a new Phillie Phanatic sublimated printed tank and short set with a Phanatic palm tree ’47 Brand hat; Cooperstown style ’47 Brand t-shirt and hat, and a ’47 Brand Tropical green bucket hat with the Phanatic.
There are plenty of more exciting items at shops all around BayCare Ballpark as well. In addition to the newer items, Phillies classics like hats and jerseys will also be available.
