Eagles reporter suggests Big Dom ‘controls Nick Sirianni’s emotions on the sideline’

One normal day as a Philadelphia Eagles fan is all many are asking for at this point. As the new league year approaches, there has been a growing trend of speculative reports on what exactly caused the Birds to spiral out of the sky last season. One renowned reporter revealed some new information on Wednesday and it’s slightly concerning.

Derrick Gunn drops a pipe bomb on the Eagles

There’s a lot to dissect here.

Derrick Gunn isn’t known for just putting any old statement out there without weight. He was a credentialed member of the media for years and has a lot of personal ties to the team. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and the fire alarms are certainly sounding right now.

Wait…what?

The Jalen Hurts comment makes sense. He was still 24-years-old when he signed a $255M extension and was coming on the back of a sensational 2023 campaign that almost ended in Championship glory. That last part wasn’t to be, but with brand deals from companies like Jordan, it’s easy to see how he’d be feeling the pressure in the season that followed. How much that impacted his play, we’ll never really know, but we do know that he’s long been regarded as a level-headed quarterback and his demeanor did not change at all over the last 12 months.

The Nick Sirianni part? That’s genuinely laughable. Not in a way that discredits D. Gunn, but if that is accurate, the fact that the Eagles need a Head of Security figure to keep their Head Coach in line is such a red flag that I’d find it astounding they kept him on, if it’s true of course.

Nick Sirianni is known for being an emotional coach. We’ve seen both positive and negative outbursts that include being calmed down by Jalen Hurts, and sounding off on Chiefs fans after their emphatic regular season win. It would hardly be surprising if Gunn’s report is true, but it just sounds so outlandish that their HEAD COACH needs a childminder.

What should Eagles fans do with this information?

Throw it on the fire with the rest of the chaotic takes hitting social media takes right now. Whether it’s some big ‘Elephant in the room’ that can’t be talked about, or Big Dom’s Daycare, none of it matters. The Eagles are moving on, nothing is happening with the team right now and the rest is just noise to fill the airwaves. Let it go and let’s ramp up for free agency and beyond.
