Report: Eagles rookie Sydney Brown tore ACL in loss to Giants

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network that rookie Safety, Sydney Brown, tore his ACL in the devastating defeat against the Giants.

The Illinois product went down on a special teams play at the beginning of the game and was carted off with a leg injury that later turned out to be a torn ACL.

Losing any player to an ACL tear is always tough to stomach, but Sydney Brown has been growing in importance to this Eagles team over the past few weeks. The rookie DB has played in 37% of snaps this season but has 5 starts to his name.

Brown has been ticking multiple boxes for the Eagles over the last few months, boasting some impressive ball-hawking tendencies against the Cardinals, and showing that he can play multiple spots in the secondary.

The main hope for Brown is that he can make a full recovery and hopefully be ready to go by some stage during the 2024 season. As for the immediate future, the Eagles are going to be one of their brightest young stars on defense when they clash with the Buccaneers in the playoffs next weekend.
