Oregon vs USC Betting preview
If you think a 16-point spread is high for this game, the fact that USC Head Coach, Lincoln Riley, fired the teams’ defensive coordinator after losing 52-42 at home to Washington last week might have something to do with it. A quick turnaround is one thing, avoiding the fallout from that decision is another, but stopping that Oregon offense on the road? Good luck.
This isn’t just any old Oregon offense, either. The Ducks are fresh off of a 63-point outing against Cal and they know that to make the playoffs, they have to win the PAC-12 championship. That starts with a win over the now-vulnerable 7-3 Trojans.
The wildcard here is, of course, that Caleb Williams is at quarterback for USC. Even in the loss to Washington, he somehow put up 3 TD, 0 INT, completed 77% of his passes, and posted over 300 yards. There’s only so much you can do when your defense has more holes than Augusta.
Scoring should be at a premium in this game, but can we really bank on the Trojans to stay within three scores?
Oregon vs USC Betting prediction
I actually like USC to cover here. As dominant as Oregon has been this season, USC is still in the hunt for a playoff spot and they may well get a jolt of energy defensively after firing their defensive coordinator. We don’t need them to win, but to stay within 17 of the Ducks, which should be possible with Caleb Williams at the helm.
Prediction: Oregon +16.5
