Where do A.J Brown & DeVonta Smith rank among Madden 24’s top wide receivers?
It’s officially that time of year. With a new Madden title on the horizon comes all the hype and speculation surrounding player ratings, and it hasn’t taken long for some polarizing ratings to be announced. The guys at EA Sports, who produce the Madden games, released their top-10 wideouts for the upcoming iteration of the game, leaving Eagles fans in particular with plenty to debate. A.J Brown does feature inside the top-10, but just how high up the order does he land, and what about DeVonta Smith?
Madden 24 top-10 wide receivers
A.J Brown had a thunderous debut season in midnight green, registering 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns. The former Titans wideout demonstrated a truly dominant style of play, despite his running-mate, DeVonta Smith, still naturally drawing plenty of targets.
Should DeAndre Hopkins really rank above A.J Brown in this list? Sure, the veteran put up 717 yards last year and has a much more impressive resume overall, but I’d happily bet money that he puts up fewer yards than A.J Brown in 2023.
Amari Cooper is the other surprising pick. 1,160 yards in Cleveland is impressive, but 1,496 is even better…
What about Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith?
Surprisingly, DeVonta Smith doesn’t quite crack the top 10 despite recording more yards than Cooper and averaging 12.6 per reception. The Alabama product not only broke the Eagles’ rookie receiving record, but he did so as a 1B to A.J Brown. No love for the Slim Reaper in Madden just yet, it seems.
Smitty comes into Madden 24 tied with Tee Higgins in terms of rating, despite outperforming him last season.
