MLS is still in the early stages of the 2023 season; however, the matches have been very competitive. Teams have shown an emphasis on the defensive side as there have been fewer goals scored this year through six weeks than there were in previous seasons. Are we on the verge of seeing a more closely contested season in both the eastern and western conferences?

MLS Matchday 6 Highlights

The sixth matchday of the 2023 MLS season was full of thrilling matchups. While there have been fewer goals scored, some teams are finding ways to turn on the jets; Orlando scored two, Columbus scored four, and Vancouver scored five last week! The rest of the matches were very tightly contested draws or one-goal games!

Matchday Seven comes to you on Saturday!

The seventh week of the 2023 MLS season comes to you yet again all on Saturday night! There are rematches of key playoff games from last year on deck; Cincy and Philly renew their familiar rivalry, and LAFC and Austin square off in a western conference final rematch. A late-night matchup featuring the top two teams in the west takes place as well!

Will we see some shake-up in the standings this week? Will Seattle or St. Louis hold the top spot after this week? Will LAFC, Minnesota, and Cincinnati be able to remain the undefeated teams in MLS? We’ll have to watch to find out, but there is no denying that this season of MLS has produced a lot of drama through six weeks!
