Philadelphia 76ers‘ superstar Joel Embiid has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This marks the 3rd time Embiid has won the award this year and the tenth time in his career. The Sixers’ superstar has been incredible all year long but has seemingly been unstoppable lately.

For Week 21 of the NBA season, Joel Embiid is averaging 38.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.8 blocks per game on 62.0% shooting from the field. He has also led the Sixers to an undefeated week with four straight wins, two away and two at home. In each game, Joel was the leading scorer, never scoring less than 34 points. Domantas Sabonis was named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

Joel Embiid continues to impress. The MVP candidate has truly come alive over the past month or so, transforming the Sixers into one of the hottest teams in the entire NBA. Since January 1st, 2023, the Philadelphia 76ers have gone 24-8, second only to the 25-7 Bucks during that same stretch. Things appear to be working better than ever for the dynamic duo of Embiid and James Harden as the team continues to get better and better.

The Sixers sit third in the conference standings, behind both the Milwaukee Bucks (1) and the Boston Celtics (2). With how well the 76ers are playing, and specifically Joel Embiid’s dominance, fans are getting excited for both the playoffs and the possibility of a long-awaited Joel Embiid MVP.
