The Philadelphia Eagles’ magical season has been full of victories on the field and accolades off it. It’s only fitting that the end of the regular season should end on that same note.
Pass rusher Haason Reddick won the NFC Defensive Player of the Month award for December. Reddick totaled six sacks in the month of December and continued one of the best regular seasons by an Eagles free agent.
Haason Reddick is just warming up…
After signing a three-year deal with Philadelphia in the offseason, Haason Reddick totaled 16 sacks (a career-high) and a league-leading five fumbles forced. The former Temple product was named to his first pro-bowl this season and has set the stage for the Eagles’ defense to set a new franchise record for sacks in a season with 70.
Reddick is the first player in NFL history to record 10+ sacks in three separate seasons for three different teams. Before finding his forever home in Philadelphia, the pass-rushing dynamo dominated in both Arizona and Carolina.
This is the 11th regular season award that the Eagles have won this season. They have won nine “player of the week” awards with kicker, Jake Elliott, winning the award in Week 18. Haason Reddick is the second player on the team to win “player of the month” this season after Jalen Hurts won it in October.
With the Eagles securing a first-round bye as NFC East champions in the playoffs, it’ll be up to Haason Reddick and the defense to ensure playoff football continues to run in South Philly next week.
