The Philadelphia Flyers released their 2022-2023 preseason schedule this afternoon. The Orange and Black will begin their preseason on September 24th against the Boston Bruins at 7pm in South Philadelphia. They will play six games in total, three at home and three on the road.
The preseason will be the ultimate decider for the new head coach, John Tortorella, to see what players will be on the Flyers’ opening night roster for the 2022-2023 regular season.
Tortorella is excited to be the new bench boss in Philadelphia. He spoke highly of the organization during his introductory press conference on June 17th and is eager to help a struggling franchise become a contender again.
“From my very first conversation with Chuck, I knew this was the right fit for me and I believe in the direction this team is heading.”

The Flyers have many decisions to make this offseason, which is headlined by their “aggressive retool.” Chuck Fletcher wants the team to get back to the same level of competitiveness that they had during the 2019-2020 season.
To officially kick off the 2022 offseason, the Flyers own the fifth-overall pick heading into the first-round NHL Draft which is this Thursday, July 7th, in Montreal.
