Tim’s Predictions
- Points – 65
- Eastern Conference Place – 2nd
- Conference Quarterfinal – W vs Chicago
- Conference Semifinal – W vs Toronto
- Conference Final – W @ NYCFC
- MLS Cup Final – W vs Nashville
The Union is going to go for it in 2022. They will break their club record for points in a season with 65, boasting an 18-5-11 record. This will be good, but not enough to get the top spot in the east. Philly will finish second but go on a playoff run to MLS Cup.
They’ll beat Chicago at home in the conference quarterfinals. Philly will move on to best Toronto in extra time in the conference semifinals. They’ll face NYCFC this time at their house and win on penalties. This will mean the MLS Cup final will be played at the Soob and the Union will beat Nashville SC to and lift MLS Cup in 2022.

First, the Union will beat the revamped Toronto FC in the conference quarterfinals. In the conference semifinals, they’ll meet Columbus Crew at the Soob and get the W. This sets up a conference final against NYCFC in Yankee Stadium. Philly gets the win in triumphant fashion and gets to host MLS Cup 2022. El Parcero Philly sees Philly playing LAFC for an MLS Cup, and the Union lifts the Cup in front of a sell-out crowd!
Justin’s Predictions
- Points – 69
- Eastern Conference Place – 1st
- Conference Quarterfinal – Bye
- Conference Semifinal – W vs Toronto
- Conference Final – W vs Atlanta
- MLS Cup Final – W vs Nashville
It’s written in the stars! Justin sees the Union getting 69 points in 2022, and taking the number one seed in the eastern conference. Their 21-7-6 record will give them a first-round bye in the playoffs, an omen for teams in the past two seasons. Can the Union break it?
Justin sees the Union beating Toronto at home to break the curse of a one-seed losing in the conference semifinals. He then sees the Union downing Atlanta at the Soob to make MLS Cup 2022. In that game, the Union will host Nashville SC, and they’ll get the W to achieve their overarching goal!
Zach’s Predictions
- Points – 69
- Eastern Conference Place – 1st
- Conference Quarterfinal – Bye
- Conference Semifinal – W vs Montreal
- Conference Final – W vs Atlanta
- MLS Cup Final – W vs Seattle
Our boy Zach sees the Union winning at least a double in 2022. He sees the Union getting 69 points and taking the top spot in all of MLS. The Union wins the Supporters’ Shield thanks to a 22-8-4 record. This will give them a bye for the first round of the playoffs, but the season won’t end there.
Zach sees the Union besting Montreal in the conference semifinals, and then taking it to Atlanta United in the conference final. The Union gets their redemption and makes the 2022 MLS Cup final where they’ll play at home against Seattle. The Union will exorcise demons from the 2014 US Open Cup final and beat Seattle to win MLS Cup 2022 to complete their double!
Steve’s Predictions
- Points – 65
- Eastern Conference Place – 2nd
- Conference Quarterfinal – W vs Columbus
- Conference Semifinal – W vs Orlando
- Conference Final – L @ Atlanta
- MLS Cup Final – Atlanta W over Nashville
The newest member of our Union team Steve sees the Union as a successful team in 2022. He sees the Union getting 65 points. Their 18-5-11 record will help Philly secure the second seed in the eastern conference. This means the team will need to go on another run as they did in 2021 to get to their first-ever MLS Cup.
Steve sees the Union beating Columbus Crew at home in the conference quarterfinals. They’ll get another home game in the conference semis playing and beating Orlando City. This will take them to the eastern conference final. Steve sees the Union going down to Atlanta, and falling short of the team’s goal yet again. Philly would lose to Atlanta, and then they’d go on to beat Nashville in the 2022 MLS Cup Final.
